Med &Jay's Cyber CafeThis is our "Cyber Cafe" banner all dressed up for the Christmans Holidays. This one I didn't have to build from scratch.

Yesterday, in our post: “We Can’t Help Ourselves—Today’s BAD Joke,” in our last comment we posed a bit of a puzzle for any subsequent reader/commenter: “Take a good look at the pirate ship, there is something very wrong with the picture (a very common error when non-sailors draw sailing ships).”

No one took us up on the challenge—quite possibly no one even read the post/comments after the challenge was issued—the joke was pretty bad.

Anyway, here is the answer—the flag is blowing the wrong way! On a sailing ship, the wind must come from behind the ship (this particular ship is a “square-rigged sloop”). The wind therefore would be blowing the flag generally toward the front (bow) of the ship—and could not be extended towards the ship’s rear (stern).

Bad flag on the left, good flag on the right:
