JAPAN Wins IN Penalty Shootout - 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup

In the much touted, much anticipated 2011 Women's World Cup Finals the beloved Japanese Women's team squeaked by the dominant USA women's soccer team today in Germany.  The big buzz among most of my friends was the game today. We all wanted to see our USA Team as theb VICTORS, buy it wasn't to be.  After 120 minutes of playing time, the US failed to capitalize on the penalty kicks.  The Japanese took advantage and wrap it up 3-1 during the penalty round.  Congratulation to the Japanese. It was a great run for the USA

It was a very sad loss C Lloyd. But there is always next year.  The fact that they were in the finals speaks well!

This was a heartbreak for the U.S. ladies -- after all they went through to reach this point.  Japan, though, had to be a sentimental favorite for many around the world after what their country has gone through this past year.  Definitely helped put Women's Soccer in the limelight again, which is a good thing.  Have a great week!

This was a fight to the finish.  It's a shame the US ladies lost but they fought the fight right up to the last minute.  They can hold their heads up high on this one.

And what a game that was...

The American team played better...

They lost their focus at the end...

A great achievement reaching the final.
