The "Oomph" Factor
This morning, I'm off to help new clients organize their move. We met late last week, so I know that we'll be separating her furnishings and belongings into three groups: donate, move to new place, store for future move to vacation home.
So my car has a "starter kit" for them which contains boxes, dish pack, bubble wrap and tape. Along with these are my essentials, which include colored labels, tape measure, scissors, a few other odds and ends - and lunch!
I know that all of these tangible aids are necessary for seeing that things are wrapped adequately to survive their trip. And I know some of the other information I've already sent - contact info for places to donate, an antique appraiser - will also be a help.
But probably the most important thing I can bring is the "oomph" factor. Sorting and packing can be a tedious and long business, and somewhere along the line, just about everyone wants to just give it all up and forget their belongings. That's where a positive attitude, a little extra elbow grease, and a few moments of relaxing come in. And then, "oomph!" - I give the necessary nudge and friendly help that continues the tasks until they're all done.
Is your "oomph" letting you down? Call Transition Stage for help with sorting, organizing and moving. Oh - and we can also stage your home so it attracts buyers sooner rather than later. Give us a call!
