Shopping on Maui - KIDS & COMPANY

POTTERY STUDIO FOR KIDS

If you live on MAUI and have kids, you probably already know about Kids & Company.  These 2 great stores sell educational toys and things for kids, not just the usual plastic junk. Their original store in the Maui Mall has now morphed into an art studio that's open every day with creative activities for both kids and adults. Mostly it functions as a pottery studio where you can design and create unique items to take home.  The owners, Mario and Ladini, have a lot of kids of their own, so they're providing something that really works for kids and their parents.

Besides being open each day, they are also available for private parties at night, and encourage adults to have theme parties where everyone can participate in the fun of being an artist. Baby showers, birthday parties and school field trips can now be really memorable, with something fun to take home.
If this sounds like something you and your kids would like, give them a call at 808 877-7819, or drop into one of the stores at the Maui Mall or Queen Kaahumanu Center, in Kahului. It's a nice change from the usual shopping.

Grandpa Magnets.  That's what they put under the flooring at Kids & Company, Georgina.  I'm convinced of it! Thanks for the post!

I know what you mean, when I go into that store I have a hard time getting out.  I like to do my Christmas shopping there for the grandkids.

I used to teach pottery classes to kids, years ago when my own children were in elementary school. It was a lot of fun!!! I had my own studio section at a large artists complex back then - I love throwing pots!

BJ - when you come, remind me to show you some of the stuff my dad makes - he is a really good potter, but he prefers to do the slab building technique.
