Waterbury CT Area Farmer's Markets

It's that time of year when the local CT Growers pack their trucks and bring their fresh fruits, vegetables, plants and other seasonal goods to the open air Farmer's Markets.

Town residents can not only get some great fresh goods, but they are typically cheaper than what can be found in the big area supermarkets.

Residents of Naugatuck CT can go to the Town Green along Church Street on Wednesdays from 10 AM to 2 PM and on Sundays from 9 AM to 1 PM

The Waterbury CT Farmer's Market, known as Brass City Harvest is open on Thursdays on the Waterbury Green, and as an additional feature, each week they invite an area restaurant to participate with a food tasting.

For residents of Watertown, the Farmer's Market in Watertown Ct is open Saturdays from 9 AM to 1 PM in the parking lot of the Watertown Public Library at 470 Main St, Watertown Ct.

Walking the rows of tents, you can find fresh eggs, fresh flowers, fresh baked goods, craft items, a vendor with Italian pastries, coupons from a local ice cream shop and even a butcher.

Kids are active with face paintings and the sounds of live music fills the air.

The markets will run through mid October, weather permitting. It doesn't get any better or fresher than this. Buy farm fresh produce, mingle with friends and neighbors and enjoy shopping, the old fashioned way.

Ed -- Wow, those are some huge cabbage heads.  I LOVE the fresh stuff.  There's nothing like it. Wish we could enjoy it year round.
