I would first do a soft pull on your credit to see what is on your credit and what your credit score is. Then if your Mid score is below 600 I would possibly add some new credit by getting a credit card and if you have negative items on your credit report I would use the Building New Owners Program and clean up your credit profile.
If I do this how long do you think it will take to get one of the 1st time buyers home loans or programs out there? That is always hard to answer. Many of my buyers who do this and follow the system super tight get their credit profile where the lender wants it usually around 90 days out.
