My Docusign Experience

This tale begins on a dark and rainy day in Southern California. Our winters usually consist of colder temperatures and rain from January through March. Yet this year we were faced with unprecedented rainfall. Of course we were happy to see the rain as the summer before we had faced drought conditions through out the Inland Empire. Yet this rain was relentless! Record breaking rain from Los Angeles through the High Valley Cities.rain, logs, ground, fog

I lived in a tract community built in Perris surrounded by the San Jacinto mountains to the west and low lying ranches to the east. We had selected to move here to get away from the hustle and bustle of city living. This was a very rural community with only three separate entrances into the area.

The rain continued unabated for days turning into weeks. Eventually the low lying lands begin to fill with water with no opportunity to drain as the land was saturated. Slowly  flooding streets began to become common place. Certain areas frequently flooded during the winter rains, you expected this and accordingly rearranged your travel path. But these winter rains were different and we were not prepared for what occurred next.

The rains began to impact freight traffic. The local grocery stores were beginning to experience shortages. People began filling their cars in case the delivery of gasoline was halted. Finally the moment arrived when emergency services closed the entrances to our community. For those unfortunate enough to be away from home a miserable night in the car or a detour to a friends home were the only options. We were land-locked and unable to leave our homes for several days.

You may suspect me of exaggeration or taking literary license but if you check local records you will discover that during the winter season of December 20, 2010 Southern California faced record breaking rain.

Pertinent to this tale, of mother nature unleashed, is the information that I am a Realtor and work had to continue despite the on-slaught of pounding rain and floods. (Just like the postman we continue through rain, snow and sleet.) I had been working with a listing for three months and just received an offer. Fortunately I had just been introduced to Docusign and was able to utilize the system to email an offer, along with the six counters, to a client in Riverside. We were successful in reaching an agreement and I was even able to add the other parties to the Docusign for a seamless transaction all without leaving the warmth (and dryness) of my home!

So to say I am an avid fan is an understatement. The simplicity, the convenience and green factors have made me a true believer!"
