Enough with the Phone Books! NO MORE PHONE BOOKS!
No more phone books! I can't agree with Peggy Chirico more about this. Can remember when the last time I used one was! Why not send a post card out that let's people know you are in the printing stages and have them return the card if they want one.
Enough with the Phone Books! NO MORE PHONE BOOKS!
I went out to get my morning paper and found another one of these dinosaurs in my driveway--a useless phone book. I get no fewer that six a year from various companies including AT&T, YellowBook, the Reminder, etc. I can't even remember the last time I used a phone book.
The insidious thing, however, is that my town recycling doesn't want them either. We have to take them directly to the landfill ourselves (!) where they will no doubt clog up the entire landfill. How many people do that? Probably no one! So they end up in the landfill anyway.
So what do we have here? In my town alone there are probably 25,000 households receiving multiple phone books per year. Multiply that by all the towns in Connecticut as well as every other state in the country and it adds up to TONS of unnecessary paper. I haven't even included all the gas wasted in DELIVERING these to every driveway in the country.
For the occasional person who still uses a phone book, let them OPT IN. I think everyone should protest the proliferation of this waste of paper. NO MORE PHONE BOOKS!
I am tweeting NO MORE PHONE BOOKS on Twitter. Please feel free to retweet!
