I have been working with a client who was hesitant to work with me. I had to appoligize and tell him that I would have better communication than the last person he was working with and that time will tell that I will back my word.
Then, I had to listen to what the previous agent did wrong to this person. Well, by listening to this I knew right away how to win this person over.
I just keep saying I am sorry that he had that bad experience and that I would help him list his property and help him sell it.
Well, I have managed to keep in communication via email of what was happening. Now, it was time to give them a call instead of emailing just to say HI and I have a little action but no offer yet.
Well, after the first conversation and emails with communicating with this person. My phone call yesterday got me praise. Now, my client is saying that I have in the last 6 weeks communicated more to them than the other agent ever did in the 5 months that they had the listing.
So, in a down market it is communication that will keep us alive and we need to talk to our clients, buyers or sellers and let them know that maybe it is nothing is happening. That you are sorry.
The clients just want to know you are thinking about them and trying on their behalf.
It's this what you would want if you were the client and not the agent? Stay in touch with your clients will win you over at least two fold.
