Tualatin WES Trimet Station, answer to Where is it Wednesday...somewhere in Tualatin, Oregon 7/20/11

Last week I had a bit of fun doing something different in honor of John Mc Carthy who is the record running correct guesser when I posted  Fuller Gardens, answer to Where is it Wednesday..with a twist..somewhere in North Hampton, NH 7/13/11.

This week we are back to a location in Tualatin (pronounced Tu-aah-la-tin)

Each week I'll be posting a new picture on Wednesday morning. The title of the blog will have the City where the picture is taken and I'll post the answer Wednesday evening...not only here on my blog, but on facebook business page (please click like and add yourself there) as well as tweetin it on my Twitter page as well.

Do you know where it is? Care to guess? Comments are welcome! I'll post the answer tonight.

Hint: Oh, the places you will go...like Wilsonville, Tualatin, Nimbus/Hall, Tigard and Beaverton..via the WES Train!

Tualatin WES Trimet Station, answer to Where is it Wednesday...Tualatin, Oregon 7/20/11

Yes, John is correct this week! Gosh how he get's them I don't know!!  This is one of 5 pieces of art displayed at the Tualatin WES (westside express service)Trimet Station called  The Interactivators. Tualatin is one of the stations along with Beaverton, Hall/Nimbus, Tigard, and Wilsonville. Opening in 2009, it didn't go in without some glitches.

I remember well the neighborhoods that once had perhaps two log trains come through daily being a bit upset when it changed to over 30 daily trains passing their quiet residential homes blasting the horn at 5:30 AM ansteady through the day. Let's just say a few were worried about their property values...and for good reason. I haven't heard much about it in a while so perhaps it's one of those things..if you can't fight it, get used to it.

That's from the Dr. Seuss book, isn't it? I always wondered about the correct pronunciation (no kidding) and it turns out I've had it right all along.

Hi Cindy,

Alright, alright...that is the artwork of Frank Boyden and Brad Rude, "The Interactivators", and can be found at the WES TriMet commuter station in Tualatin. The instructions for the artwof design given by the TriMet Commuter Rail Art Advisory Committee was "don't bore us", and it sure looks like they didn't disappoint! Thanks for the fun, Cindy!

Hi Jill, "Oh the places you will go" is a great Dr. Seuss Book and one that all children should have in their home library. Of course you were right!

Hi John, You are good my friend! You even found out more about the artwork than I knew..LOL. This week was exactly why I love doing this. I've never been on the station platform before and my thought for WIIW was for the train station as I thought it would be a cool picture. When I got up there and noticed this piece of artwork, I learned just one more piece of information about my community. That's one of the reasons I'm having so much fun doing this!

Hi Peter and Linda, It is a very funky piece of artwork for a train station right? Our City is just full of art all over the place!

Hi Leilani, Thanks so much! If you ever get to the Portland area, at least you'll know a few places :) As I mentioned to John, I learned something new this week as well about my community..not a bad thing at all.

Hi Gayle, I know right? We are very lucky to be living where we do. Your a bit out, but still close enough to all. Tualatin is just 20 minutes to downtown, so not a bad drive as well.
