I agree....BUT are you saying you get 50% for a referral fee?

Isn't that a little steep?

Even Christians need to make a living. I think 50% is a bit much but that is between you and the other agent.

Scott and Jennifer:  While all referral fees are negotiable, my fee for referrals is 25%

Most people have no idea how the real estate industry works.....they think we are way over paid not knowing that we split the commission more than once and what we actually end up with is much less than they pay. They also don't realize we only get paid when the deal closes......I wonder how long they would go without a paycheck from their job, yet continue to pay fees and expenses. Easy money, right!

I think the concept of the service you are tyring to provide is excellent.  I like that it is a way for agents who are Christians and would like to be recognized that way.  How did this person in Canada get the idea you charge half of the commission anyway?  That had to come from somewhere, or did that person just assume!  Which we know what happens when we assume!  Regardless, half the commission or not, just a flat referral fee, whatever should be disclosed up front and why shouldn't you get some compensation for the referral.  It's all well and good to forgive and forget but the record should be set straight.  Still, I agree with most everyone who has commented, let's not turn Active Rain into this sort of thing.  If you are truly following what God would have you do and you know in your heart what your true motivation is, then who cares what some misguided or misinformed person in Canada really has to say about it!  Well, there's my rant for the day.  Darn, I should have saved it for something more serious.

I did not see that on your site.  I am happy to be part of this group and hope that I have enough to offer to all.
