Hello all: I hope you're well. The sun has finally peaked its head through the clouds. Suffice it to say we've had very cool weather so far this summer.
So are you ready for video marketing? Yesterday I attended a great and simple class on Video Marketing. Here is what I learned. Here are 10 great tips for marketing your business using video:
1) Know your goal-what type of business are you intending to capture
2) Know your brand-be valid, confident and yourself
3) Don't just make self-serving commercials. In fact, avoid these if you can
4) Provide value-know what your target audience is seeking
5) Keep it short and sweet-2-3 minutes max.
6) Use You Tube-#1 media sharing site in the world. There may be other options as well
7) Tag and Embed-to optimize your views and shares
8) Interact with your viewers-it's called "social media" for a reason
9) Get your clients involved-testimonials
10) Keep it simple and cheap-you don't need a production company to do this
There you go. What do I think? I think a lot of you out there could be found by considering video marketing. Is it for everyone? No. If you're not into tech. or don't want to invest in the requisite flip camera (Kodak, for example) or IPhone 4 or IPod touch, it probably isn't for you. But as point #10 states above, its a relatively simple and inexpensive way to get your name out there. Thanks to Liz Johnson at Keller Williams Realty Auburn for providing the material and teaching the class. I wish you well if you decide to start marketing your business via video! Take care.
