Reading the morning news there are many stories about those people that society holds high. Justin Timberlake doing a benefit event, Denise Richards adopting a baby, Michael Vick getting more money are just a few. So who do you look to for inspiration? Why is there so much attention paid for those that act, throw a ball, or sing? There was a story of heroes yesterday that I want to know more about. There were men that gave their time to help others and ended up giving their lives in service. Their names were not mentioned, only their truck number. There should be stories of their lives and all they did as the top stories on the news instead of who is getting a divorce, married, or not hitting. There are people everyday in your community that are serving others, those are the people that we should hold up and celebrate. We need to look to each other for help, change, and inspiration instead of the few that are lucky enough to have the opportunities to be in the spotlight. We need to shine the spotlight on those making a difference locally.
