I'm a DocuSign fan!

Join the partyDocuSign has been around for a while now, but I hadn't joined the party until May of this year.

Here are a couple of my stories:
  • May 17 - I headed to Hawaii on vacation. The night before received word that an offer was coming in on one of my listings. Arrived at the hotel, set up my office in the open air lobby, reviewed the offer, called my clients, sent it off via DocuSign, all before our room was ready. Received the signed docs back, and sent them off to the buyer's agent. $20,000+ commission set to go, while I vacationed. And--very happy sellers!
  • July 19 - one of my sellers found their out-of-area dream house over the weekend; their offer was accepted, with a counter. Their agent on the buy side doesn't use DocuSign; my seller no longer had a fax or printer set up. Agent emailed doc to me; I sent it via DocuSign to my seller, who sent it back to me, signed. I emailed signed Counter to other agent. Their purchase proceeds smoothly, we reduced the price on the home they're selling by $50,000 and have created a stimulus for getting the house sold. Very happy clients, who think I'm marvelous!
  • July 19 - (yes, yesterday was a busy DocuSign day!) Wrote an offer for buyers that will be presented to sellers today. Two buyers in the Silicon Valley working during day, one with an evening event, me with an HOA board meeting in San Francisco in the evening. 3 people, 3 locations. What to do? Why, DocuSign, of course. I sent them 3 DocuSign packets totalling 30 pages; they signed, initialed, dated, added the time everywhere I indicated, returned them to me. Before heading to bed after a long evening, I sent the offer on its way to the listing agent. Buyers are able to make an offer without disrupting their busy schedules; I'm able to attend my meeting (and incorporate that with a bit of a 'date night' with my husband!) Four happy people!
There have been other occasions between my first and latest uses where DocuSign made life simpler for all involved.

I'm a fan, and suggest you give it a try, too. It's not too late to join the party, and I'm sure you'll have fun.

This post is a submission to the DocuSign/ActiveRain Electronic Signature Stories Contest. It's possible I will win a prize for writing this post. You could win a prize too by going to the Contest Announcement and sharing your own story.

Lottie, I am a DocuSign fan too. I wish more lenders were also fans. I've had clients that could not figure out how to "work it" which baffles my mind. There is nothing to work ... just click and sign! Good luck with the DocuSign contest!

Hi Kathleen, I haven't had any client confusion (yet!) If they are comfortable with email, they should be comfortable with Docusign

Donnie, it's simple to use (try a test to a friend, when you're not under pressure.) Once you start using it, you'll realize how much it frees you up!

Sorry to hear you've had trouble, Joseph. It might be worthwhile to find out why they couldn't sign; if that could be corrected, you'd probably find it a hugh time saver, for both you and your clients. Good luck!
