Do you feel like you’re going over the edge?

Do you feel like you’re going over the edge? I hear that there are no jobs out there. Real Estate isn’t selling. Builders aren’t building and those who did are sitting on their homes. Contractors are working for less than before or not at all. Home inspectors have given up and left the field. So, do you feel like you’re going over the edge?

Despite all the bad news in the media these days I firmly believe that the sky is not falling. I’ve found that persistence does pan out in the long run. Look for a special niche in your market and exploit it. If you can’t find that niche, then figure out how to create one. There are so many opportunities out there… don’t let them pass you by.

The Real Estate market is changing, it’s evolving and it’s going to take a while to come back in some places, but it’s still there for those who can work it.

You are right- the sky is not falling and there is always someone out there who needs to sell now and someone who needs to buy now- our job is to put those 2 people together!

Tha's true Suesan. Find your niche and become the best "whatever" you can in your market. Good reminders - I actually enjoy this market. It's separating the girls from the women. ;)

Suesan, you are right! I think it's a great opportunity with less competition. Plus, more time to get in depth education to be valuable professional. Thank you for sharing.

Ellie – that’s exactly correct and my job is to make sure that you and your buyer are aware of the conditions of the house.

Suesan, the market is local. We are seeing a ton of bidding wars, no skies falling. All the best, Michelle

Debb it certainly is. It’s also a great market for my husband and our sons who are contractors.

Michelle – I agree the market is local.  Here in the Pocono’s we’re seeing both side of the spectrum. Some houses are going super cheap; some are holding their value. Regardless of which you’re selling at the time, they are selling.

Many of us must change our mode of business to meet the challenges of the market. Change is good but when you fail to change the results can be very bad.

 Life is good!

Hi Sue!  How do you know this is not the new normal?  And besides, what does the housing market have to do with anything?  The Great Imam has said that renting is now the American dream.  Finall, we've arrived as a nation.

Sarcasm intentional.

And this home inspector isn't leaving the field!

Sue - Things are definitely different than just 5 years ago, but I agree that opportunities exist.  Those who try to continue business as usual are the ones who will suffer the most.

Jay, this may very well be the new normal and like you I’m still here doing what I like to do…home inspections. BTW…you know I love your sarcasm. Great to hear from you Jay.

John – that’s the truth. If you can’t figure out how to work with the new normal then you’re in deep trouble. The opportunities are still there for those who know how to take advantage of them.

Suesan, I also believe that every market is different.  I don't feel at all like I'm going over the edge unless we are talking about being swamped with business.  We are moving at a good pace here...I'm not boasting because it wasn't so long ago that things were very slow and with the current governmental uncertainty...who knows what the future will bring.

Anyway good to see you again and I hope all is well.

Suesan - I try to stay in the present and not look over my shoulder for yesterday... The market is what it is and it's up to each of us to make it work for us.
