18 Comments on Rocketeers Blast Off As Lebanon Hosts NARAM-53 July 22-29 2011
Sounds like a blast. Wish I could be there
Mark
Mark, Not sure where the event was held last year, but pretty cool to get it here. Hadn't heard it was coming, may need to swing by over the weekend.
Bliz, This is great Fun and Entertaining too! I was trying to remember that movie that was made about those high schools kids who had a successful rocket launch, and one of them went on to be a scientist at NASA in Houston.
You're right BLiz, nothing rinky dink about these rockets. Amazing that they are all made from hand too...no kits.
Wow, that one took off.
Wow! Lebanonan always seems to have something cool going on :)! Hand made rockets sound like a blast (hahaha)...and it's FREE!
Joni, Some of these "models" would give NASA rocket envy! :)
Jerry, Quick Google search says "October Sky".
Anita, It may be a hobby, but it's serious work for those involved. Reminds me of the RC airplane hobbyists. Had a client that was into it, BIG planes with a lot of complexity.
Tim, With almost a 1/3 of a mile altitude on some of these, I'm surprised they can see them at all to track them down!
Brenda, Tish will be jealous! FREE and EDUCATIONAL :)
Yowza............big boy toys indeed! I see Ilene got here while I was on my way to work! Very cool! :~)
Roger, Most certainly, and yes, Ilene made a quick appearance this morning :)
Can you imagine how fun it would be to take a Boy Scout troop to this event? Sounds like a blast!
I'd love to be in on one of these launches..what a great day that would be for all ages!
Leslie, They'd be ecstatic beyond belief :) Probably talking about it for years!
Ginny, Thinking I've definitely got to make a swing by!
Wow, I bet this event inspire some future astronauts!!!
Juli, Not sure how they're going to get them up there! Rent-a-Rocket?? :)
Bliz, now that would be a lot of fun. They've gotten pretty sophisticated and technically advanced over the years.
Michael, Got out there for a few minutes this morning to watch a few launches. The REALLY big ones weren't out to play, but they had well controlled, SAFE launch systems in place for everyone :)
