So...Remember the Singing Group Jan and Dean?? Remember the Photo of The Car I Showed You Yesterday?

Yesterday I wrote a post called "Luau Wisconsin Style......Really it Wasn't Bad!". In the post I included a picture of one of the toys at the Luau, this Woody Car.

As you can see it has a Surf Board on top and a 'Surf City' emblem.

Do you remember the singing group Jan and Dean? Yes, I am dating myself and you will be too if you admit to remembering them. Here's a reminder....this is hysterical!!:

Anyway, the owner of this car (and father of the groom) was a good friend of Jan and when Jan died he built this car and dedicated it to him. He built it from scratch as he was the shop teacher for the local high school.

So, another cool point. See the checked shirt on the front seat??

See the guy at the front of this album? Yes, that is the Beach Boys. It's his shirt! The Father of the Groom also played with the Beach Boys for fun now and then.

Wow....what a great piece of Rock-n-Roll history! Gorwing up in So. Calif in the 60's all this really takes me back....this was filmed near the Santa Monica Pier and on the Pacific Coast Highway. Thanks for including that video....I do remember that Jan died (car accident??).

Oh I wish I had thought of that Roger!

When I was looking up Surf City video on You Tube Kevin, they had one for "The Little Old Lady from Pasadena" and I almost wanted to include it just for fun.

I don't know how he died, I was going to look it up. That is cool that you grew up during that era on around there Kathy!
