Lately every time when my husband turns on the TV in the morning or at night, I will hear about the dangerous heat wave forecast for half the country.  We human have difficulty handling the heat, but how about our pets – the hot dogs.

Summer heat does affect dogs. We must protect our pets from the extreme heat.

Things we can do to help the hot dogs cool down.

1. Take them for a walk early in the morning or late evening.
2. Never leave them in the car while you go shopping or …
3. Add ice cubes to water
4. Let them play in the water
5. Never let them drink water outside the water bowl; in case fertilizer, weed killer, or rat poison may get into the water.
6. Cut hair to release heat stress, do not shave down to skin to prevent sunburn and other injuries.
