It looks like resale housing activity substantially outpaced mid-October results from a year past.  With 3,297 sales reported at mid-month this is a 10% increase over 2006.  The best October yet has saw 7,227 homes sold and we are certainly on course to rival that at the half-way mark.

While buyers were having difficulty finding what they wanted in September things seem to have popped right back to the robust market that we have become accustomed to. 

Riverdale (E01) was hot with a 29% increase in activity, as were Streetsville (W19) to the west, Willowdale (C07) to the North and Innisfil (N23) to the far north.

The average price rose 9% to $399,013 from just one month ago.  It's up 13% over last year.

There's no question that home ownership in Toronto is the best long-term investment you can make.  All eyes are now on the City of Toronto; if they impose a second land transfer tax this Monday it could certainly impact the market and the amount of money home buyers spend.
