Fun at the Friday Night Astros Baseball Game -- Baseball and Fireworks! Astros Game 7/15/11.
The seat I had was in the "Table" section. They served appetizers (popcorn and chips), dinner (a choice of 10 entrees) and desert (ice cream). The view was actually pretty good from my seat.
Here is a banner showing the evolution of the Astros. For years they had the white uniforms with the yellow, orange and blue stripes on the shoulders. And the games used to be played in the Astrodome. Now they play at Minute Maid Park. The new stadium does have a retractable roof.
The warm up area for the Astros was near where I was sitting. This baseball player was posing for me.
Here was the view from my seat in the Tables section. I was in center field and the view is not bad considering it is a long way from home plate.
While the teams are changing during the innings, the camera men were hard at work keeping the crowd entertained with live events in the audience such as commercials, T-shirt launches and even Kiss Cams.
Here was my dessert. Yum!!! Sadly the final score was 4 - 0 in favor of the Pirates, but I sure did have a good time.
After the game they opened the roof of and fired off the fireworks. Can you see the outline of the flags in the fireworks?
While they were opening the roof I saw this signed baseball that a little girl had. She said the player was very nice about signing the baseball for her. Yea Astros! Great PR.
