I always thought that my home was safe and secure with double locks, but as this video shows, our locks may not be as secure as we thought. Almost two thirds of home break-ins do not show any signs of forced entry according to the National Crime Prevention Council and the Dept. of Justice. While some of these homes may have been entered through unlocked doors, experts agree that most often the practice of lock bumping was used to obtain illegal entrance into these homes. The numbers are startling and stresses the importance that homeowners review their current lock system to protect themselves against this practice.

While some law enforcement officials do not believe that lock bumping is used by a "typical" burglar, it is certainly a risk.
