Here are two Major Hotel/ Casinos & one of the Largest Retail Shopping Centers in Las Vegas that have failed. The Harmon Building at City Center (Above) is in litigation with MGM, Perini, and a Cement Company for 100s of thousands of dollars.

The photo (Below) is the "Fountainblea Hotel/ Casino that went into Bankruptcy, and both of these buildings will be taken down in the near future.

Las Vegas doesn't need anymore Hotel/ Casinos (Period) ... Las Vegas Nevada needs something other than Hotels & Casinos! Las Vegas needs a HUGE Amusement Park and not a (Ferris Wheel) with several other rides.

What ever happened to the (Largest Water Park) that was suppose to be built in Henderson Nevada, it was going to be the "Largest Water Park" West of the Mississippi.

Robert (Vegas Bob) Swetz is very disappointed with what has been going around in his town. And Las Vegas City Council & the State of Nevada better get their crap together soon!

And if you need some help you know where to reach me ... 702 443 7156  ask for Vegas Bob

Vegas Bob is going out this weekend along "The Strip" late on Friday or Saturday night with his (Video Camera). VB is going to capture some videos of GARBAGE to show everyone within the World Wide Web what has happened to (MY TOWN) ... LAS VEGAS NEVADA ...

Vegas Bob - Great Photos! Hopefully they'll continue to find good ways to re-purpose the buildings or supplies and Vegas will find a way to re-purpose their community.

VB, I can't believe that after they have gone to the trouble of constructing those buildings, brand new, they are then going to tear them down, really?

Hello John and yes they are ... The Harmon Building at the top was suppose to be the number one building at "City Center" and the cement with re-bar was poured wrong and the building is unsafe. The other two buildings have been exposed to outside elements and the specs, etc. are out dated so they will tear them down. There are many more projects across the Las Vegas Valley that will also be tore down, it's very sad ... ;o(

Bob I love going to Vegas.  I like the desert and I like roaming the streets all night in warm weather.  I love the shows.  But I have a family and I have not been on a Vegas "Vacation" for 12 years or more.  We did go to a Church Conference in Vegas about 4 years ago and the closest we went to a Casino with all the kids in tow was a buffet.

However, I can only take so much of the Strip and such and when I go to Vegas I like to get out over to Hover Damn and I have done the Factory Tours (Marsh-mellows and Cranberries).  I agree Vegas needs a lot more for the entire family and more than Casinos.  I think you have a UFL Football team, Minor League Baseball, and Arena Football (do you)? but more sports would be good.  Maybe a giant complex for Travel Baseball competition.  Major Amusement Park and Water Complex would be top notch.

Hello Gene and "That;s what I'm Talking About!"

All I ever hear about Las Vegas is (SIN CITY) ... Blah-Blah-Blah!

People come here with their families and most people that roll into Vegas are very disappointed with all the strip joint cards floating around the streets on "The Strip"

Walt Disney Corp purchased some large acreage NE of town, let's break ground and get that Amusement Park built!

Bob, It seems a shame to tear down those two new buidlings!  I do think that you're right, Las Vegas needs something other than just the Hotel/Casino destinations.  I would think that it could easily do something similar to Branson.  By that I mean provide a venue for multiple musical acts to be on stage much like Caesars has done only for more than one or two artists.  I would then suggest that they lower the price of admission to them so that you could afford to take the family to see a musical act.  Something like that, I would be interested in.

Hello Tony & Darcy and I love your comment and have been to Branson many times! You are so right, Vegas has become so expensive, shows, buffets, etc, and I know that people from (City Hall, City Council & the State of Nevada) will be reading this post. They have been following VB for quite some time, and I really want them to hear this post and or give me a call ...

Bob - These photos are quite shocking and very sad.  It's such a shame to see such beautiful, potential hotels turned into a pile of rubble.  All this is well hidden from tourists.  I had no idea this was going on.  Thanks for sharing your perspective.

Howdy and morning to you Vegas Bob

VB,
that there sure is mighty sad that has to happen, but its sure better that buildings are safe for folks to be able to use them, than to have a whole lot of folks end up having something happen to them.

I think you are right, folks also like to be able to visit a really nice Amusement Park, which families can spend time and have a enjoyable time together.

Have a good one
Dale in New Hampshire

I remember seeing this buildings and partials when I was there in April.  It's to bad that they were started in the first place... at least the last too.  The Mall location was blocking what would ahve been a  nice view... I'll vote for a waterpark or amusement park... Best wishes

Hello Dale and thanks buddy for stopping by and an amusement park would do wonders for Las Vegas, even if the tourists didn't use it the "Locals" would!

And Michael you have been here recently and saw all the hotels, to many ...

And Diane, it is very sad and Las Vegas did have a "Water Park" and they tore it down to put up the Hotel in the middle of the page. Now this hotel is empty and going to be tore down.

Hello Do and I have to agree with you, VB is always on "The Strip" and Downtown on "Fremont Street" ... I see what's going on all the time, and we need some new changes soon!

Hello Debra and yes you are right, there hasn't been any work done on this building for a couple years now!

And Tom I have no idea, but is is a shame ...

And Endre, the crazy part is Carl Icahn got a smoking deal on this building and he is tearing it down and will get the land for free and pocket some change ...
