So I am a newbie and thanks to those replying to my blogs. 2 questions.
When someone coments to your blog what is the customary reply? Do you ad another comment or send a message or do nothing at all?
Question 2, what is the difference between associates? and associations?
A newbie needs help?

Ok, the way I understand it - question #1: when someone comments to our blog, you should acknowledge their comment with a thank you plus anything else you might want to add based on the comment you received. Comments should not be a standard script. They should be thoughtful and original. Sometimes, you might want to send a private message depending on what you have to say and if it's something that is just meant for the recipient and not others.
Question #2: I understand that Associates are those people you add and Associations are those people who add you. I hope this helps you out. Maybe some other members will have other ideas about this.
And don't forget to reciprocate! When someone comments on your blog, take the time to visit and comment on one of their posts as well. This is how we all get to know one another and how you will find your favorite writers on AR.

Think of blogging the same way as you would having a conversation face to face with someone. Same general rules apply:)
So I am still wondering.....Do you send an email to thank the people commenting or do just post another comment adding there names and thanking them. The reason I ask is this. If you just post another comment and they have not check to receive all comments from this blog how are you sure the person ever sees your reply???
Did I loose anyone here, it made sense as I wrote it? lol

Hi Ron -- Welcome to ActiveRain. Many times I will respond to the comments with another comment to the same post. Many times when I am looking for post to read and comment on I will visit the blogs of those that have made comments on my post. Sometimes I will do both at the same time. 1. Post a comment on the under their comment and then 2. use the link provided (with their name) at the bottom of the their comment to reciprocate.
