Any part of it.

Did I miss something? Was the CANN-SPAM Act repealed?

Yeah, these are all "Newsletters I Never Signed Up For"

I had to abandon one of my email accounts for the very same reason. I guess they are following the "ask for forgiveness rather than permission" policy. Forget hitting "unsubscribe" they ignore it most of the time. Good luck!

Mike,

Around here they try and get away with it by saying since I'm in the real estate business, they have the right to spam my inbox, or something like that.
I just forward them back to the originator...several times.

I think AWeber has the best explaination of what is and what isn't ok.

Oh geez....

I was about to activate the email newsletter marketing and send it to my sphere of influence -- friends, clients, business associates and other folks who are on my email list who have asked me about real estate at one time or another.

We do feature "unsubscribe"....

But if you're getting multiple copies of the same newsletter from agents from the same company....that's a problem. Wonder if they have a way to flag duplicates?

Pacita - LOL!

Officially, it's against the law (CANN-SPAM Act) to add me to your newsletter without my permission.  $16,000 for each email.  So the duplicates are an issue but not the main issue.

Mike --

You've just negated one email marketing tool. Darn! Sob! But on the other hand, relief! One less thing to worry about. Next!

Hope you have a great day.

NO!  Newsletters are fabulous.  Just need to ask permission of  people first.  Like when they sign in to an open house book, "Is it ok if I send you an email from time to time focused on housing in our area?"

Or if you want to be totally upfront, "Can I add you to my great monthly newsletter?  It's got this and this and only goes out once a monthand you can unsubscribe anytime with just a click..."

Or if you had a fishbowl where people ropped their business card to win a sandwhich AND signup for a newsletter.  That's ok, as long as you keep the newsletter part in there.

The 33 thing is pretty cool.  But it's just a tool and like any tool you have to use it properly.
