I have just come across this morning an advertisement for a New Texas Rain Gauge. It is really the latest rage. I think they are taking orders as fast as they can get them..... if you can't fine one locally I will check with my local WalMart for you and see if they still have any on the shelf.
Hi, Gary. How neat is that? An old Coca Cola bottle cap. That would be a collector's item, and I am sure you won't be able to fill it up, as DRY as it has been around here in Texas. Oops!! I just heard there was a Tropical Storm brewing in the Gulf Coast, and it may be headed for Texas. We could use the rain, without any damages please.
Gary, one never knows the "many uses" of such a small item. Is this an example of "recycling"? I am so sad for Texas and the people, especially ranchers and farmers" who have been severely affected by this drought. Cute picture & great reminder to send a prayer Texas way.
Gary - can I use a plastic made one instead of the one in your picture? :) Those are hard to find.
Gary - looks like its time for you Texans to read (or reread) Dune and start using some of their water saving techniques. Can anyuone say Stilsuit?
Gary, From what I hear your cap is about to run over. If not this week end Brenda and I are going camping next week end, that always means rain.
Bill
Gary - it would be funny if it wasn't so true - our friend Robert Twaron has been drilling hundreds of feet down every day to get water for his crops and animals - he works day and night - I feel for him and all Texans with this heat!
Gary - Funny picture, but I know drought is no laughing matter. Hope things get better in Texas. With Bill camping, I guess the rain will come.
Ah Gary, that's just pitiful. I hope the rains will come and hundreds, no hundreds of thousands of those little rain gauges will be running over.
Gary, I've seen these in California as well, but didn't know they were rain gauges!!!
Gary-That is true but sad. We are usually dry and hot down here, but its been especially dry this year. Don is maybe bringing us something this weekend. We'll see.
Wait...what is this RAIN you speak of?
You actually need a rain gauge?
We are in the same boat (bad choice of words), 35 days of 100+ temp and every day this month we have been over 100 degrees.
Gary - I've got a whole case full of those rain gauges if anybody wants one but they'll have to wait until after the party :-)
