Anyone who uses a Laptop- probably a few of you out there....

So I run through laptop batteries like crazy. Every year or so I buy a new one off ebay.  I know you shouldn't just toss them away because of the environmental impact.  You can take them to an electronics store to dispose of them BUT WAIT....................................................

This is truly AWESOME!   I know this sounds crazy but give it a try....what do you have to lose?

  1. Take your laptop battery and wrap it in Newspaper 4 or 5 times.
  2. Put it in a gallon size ziplock
  3. Put it in the FREEZER and wait 4 days (probably should have a back up battery anyway, so don't be a cheapskate for $25 on ebay)
  4. Take your battery out and let it thaw overnight
  5. Unplug all your laptop cords
  6. Take battery out if there is one in there and replace with battery you put in Freezer
  7. Plug in your laptop and turn on...
For the record, I had 2 batteries that were dead and this only worked for 1 of them.  One of the batteries mysteriously came back to life and is holding a 2 hour charge!!!!!!  CRAZY!!!!! It's been 1 week now and still running that battery and totally recharged like new.

So before you toss that laptop battery in the neighbor's pool, give this a try and hope it works for you!!!! Let me know your results.  Good Luck!

Interesting, something I may try down the road. In the mean time, I just bought a new laptop as the old one was 6 years old

Matt - I will fallow your advise and put laptop battery in the freezer. Hopefully it will work again!
