RI Real Estate Recovery- Home Building - Keep the Subcontractors Working.  One of the pleasures being a North Kingstown realtor and resident is the real estate recovery that comes from seeing the ultimate in new construction - the true custom designed and built home by local contractors.  And yes, they do employ many local subcontractors too. 

 

The residential building site I was on yesterday had a number of subcontractors putting together the bones of construct and the veins of detail in this incredible 6000 square foot Colonial home.  It is about home building, not beginning home building, that makes this home stand out from all others.

 

The detail the architect has put in here is just phenomenal and so in keeping with the surrounding South Kingstown area.  From the custom stonework with the herringbone pattern fireplaces to the LED lighting, it made me as a realtor realize how many subcontractors were working here and helping the South Kingstown real estate recovery inch up.

 

The finish work has hardly begun on this South Kingstown home, the crown moldings, coffered ceilings are yet to be.  But the cedar shingles and copper corners on the roof just sparkle in the sun as you drive up on this nine acre parcel with this custom home.  You can lose yourself in the dreams of others and capture parts of it on the way out the driveway.  Now we need to see more of this RI real estate recovery evident in new home building in all sizes and shapes.

 

The present home of these homeowners is in the field behind this home.  Unfortunately, the town is making it be dismantled, due to zoning laws, once this new home has its certificate of occupancy.

 

What is very evident to a woman 'of my age' is that all the subcontractors are in their 20's and 30's primarily.  These are the homeowners of now and the future and we as businesses, in all forms and types, need to make sure they continue to work so they may buy a home of their dreams.  They too are the bones of our RI real estate recovery.

 

Quality on the detail is evident in just the basement window wells which were being faced not only on the inside but also on the outside with stunning stone...just keeping those stone masons busy and very employed.  This is indicative of home building going on in South Kingstown and what local businesses have been waiting for.  My son runs a crew on this South Kingstown real estate recovery home and has been on the job since last year here...long term employment works for home building, home selling and keeping realtors like me in my sparkly red shoes. RI Real Estate Recovery- Home Building - Keep the Sub Contractors Working.
