Americans are pretty lucky to not know true hunger in this country and in rural areas like Maine, growing your own locally produced food is the norm.

This year more and more elaborate vegetable gardens are popping up around Maine.

And fenced in areas for critters, pens for chickens and other agricultural endeavors to supplement the food budget are all around us.

Food is pretty addictive. You, me, we need to hook up and feed the addiction, habit three times a day or more.

If you live in a city, urban area that 8 out of 10 people do, the worry of what if the Piggly Wiggly had food shelves go bare may be in the back of your head.

The food in those super stores where you squeak squeak the shopping cart up and down the aisles with clarinet muzak in the background. The overloaded wire wheeled cart to over flowing gets hernia level painful as you maneuver to the check out. But the just linneus me farm landin time trailer truck delivery from outside markets where the food is grown, originates means a conveyor belt is turning morning, noon and night.

For now.

But the worry of what if food was not plentiful, if the costs went even higher coupled with where does this stuff come from anyway has people thinking.

Pondering what am I putting in my body and what if the food was not there and hunger set in for me, my family, loved ones.

Consider for a minute, humor me and see yourself the proud new owner of 88 acres of Maine land, farm home and buildings

The view of Drews Mountain and proximity of the lake behind it with the same name is one reward waiting after the Maine farm chores are finished for the day.

The side road location means livestock animals that happen to get out through the fence opening made my a maine farm field viewMaine moose last night who had designs on courting and sparking with one of the Herefords, Black Angus won't become expensive car hood ornaments.

Little traffic means more privacy, safety for all concerned on this Maine farm land with home, barn, buildings.

This Maine farm has the location, the rolling pasture, fields, mixed woods with long views.

But there is a very special waterfront element. You get ponds, a babbling brook (hit, toggle the Maine farm video to hear, see it).

But we have not mentioned the indoor Maine horse riding arena, the machine shed, outbuildings.

And we did not bring up the state of the art outdoor wood boiler, all the up-dates to the pretty neat to begin with Victorian Maine farm home.

Most Maine homes with extra special inside craftsmanship and pizazz are along main street in the downtowns, not in the country. The basic New England farm home is pretty utilitarian. The beefed up measures and maine farm landmoney, effort go in to the outbuildings, machinery to stay on the farm, make a living.

Priorities in the barn yard not destined to make the Maine farm home a venue for elaborate social gatherings and parties to hob nob with others outside the nuclear family.

The farm home in Maine, a thriving working headquarters for three or more generations under one roof line.

Not hokey but like the Walton's tv show portrayed with Grandma on the front open porch rocking.

Shelling fresh green peas with one or two of the grandchildren and conversing, connecting.

Sharing and imparting plenty of practical, common sense wisdom.

Well this Maine farm house is pretty swanky, upscale and comfortable at the same time.

Check the video detail of the hardwood floors, birds eye maple dining room buffet that is built in.

Or the vista from the third floor master bedroom suite with out of this world private tiled bath with whirlpool jet tub and plenty of space.

There is an attached workshop, extra oversized double garage.

Also a never feel fenced in, crowded 1500' of road land frontage you enjoy from the open front porch.

First floor bedroom option. Oak and marble kitchen, plenty of wainscoting and the feel of an older, preserved, establish Maine farm home. Not a shoe box dime a dozen ranch that lacks maine farm dining roomcharacter and is lost in a mass produced sea of sameness.

The Maine farm we have listed at 35 Bates Hill Road in Linneus ME.

Can you see yourself haying with a yesteryear tractor and the entire family helping getting the bales in to the barn before those dark black threatening rain clouds over head open up?

The apple orchards are a favorite of anyone that likes home made pies with sky scraper stories of your favorite home made ice cream on top.

If you want to get out from behind an office desk in the city where you live now and are having trouble breathing, we need to talk about this Maine farm.

Loose the corporate tie, give up the corner office in the high rise and the highly sought after parking space in the garage below where you chase the dollar, work now. Replace the view of buildings, all that traffic and the maine wainscoted farm kitchenurban noise, crime with Maine countryside.

Feel the best condition in your life mentally, physically and even spiritually.

There is something very good about getting in to the dirt, tilling the Maine farm soil.

Producing food for your family, for others. Creating wealth from the soil and your efforts.

This Maine farm gives you a head start, leg up and is nothing like the one you laughed at on Green Acres.

I will always have a love for farms. Growing things and the smells, both pleasant and unplesant ones, of the farm are great! Best of luck in selling them.

Ginny ... Grew up on one, own one and there is nothing, nothing like working the soil with your kids, telling them about their great grand parents, other family beyond nana and buppy. To share what you were talk, to get to work, be industrious, as self sufficient as you can and not a burden on anyone else. Especially Uncle Sam.

Cal ... There is something earthy, spiritual about getting up before the sun rises, and to plan out the day. To feed livestock munching hay, needing grain and water in a stable or tackling some new fence posts and closing up a hole in the back forty pasture. It is real, honest, good work and not all glamorous. But you heat with wood from your own woodlot, grow food you know is good, wholesome for your family's table. 96% of us were farmers years ago. Not many years back.

JUST one of the best put-together pieces of marketing I've seen. I wanted to read the entire post...and enjoyed it. If more real estate professionals chose to take the time and devote the energy to presenting their listings in context, they might choose to do it using your example. THX!!

SO...I'm suggesting this post!

ANCRE ... You could be a farm girl, in Maine. Thanks for the kind words. The insides of this Maine farm house as pretty as the setting, surroundings. Lots of land is what many are after to not feel fenced in and to start raising their own food. More and more.
