Listen for the whisper...

By

Your gut feelings come from within. Your intuition is that little voice that whispers in your ear, sometimes when you least expect it, and your thoughts are.... well, just your thoughts. I had been working with a Buyer for over 4 months and have written up offers on 3 different occassions. Then came the one home that whispered " You found me". Dozens of homes homes all across the County, racking up the miles, taking in the views, still waiting for that feeling... or whisper... I don't know about you, but when I get involved with a client, I listen to everything they say and don't say. People are as unique as the homes that they seek... yeah it rhymed... Those whispers are telling you something. If you've listened to your Buyer thoroughly, the home that matches them best will also speak to you. Just Listen! That home wants someone that makes them feel good too. Some homes won't say a word, they are quiet and like to stay to themselves. Some are loud and abrasive and will make the hair on your arms stand straight up. Then finally, the whisper... This home has been waiting for its new friends to help make memories and to enjoy each others company. Listen to the home, they do have a say... We closed on that home and I got an email from my Buyer stating that her new home was perfect and that they are finally moved in and she LOVES IT!

LISTEN!... Can't you hear it???

I love it when you can hear it, sometimes I can see it in their (homebuyers) eye before they notice it is the right home choice

Yes, I know that whisper.  I like to meet with our buyers at the very beginning even though I am not usually the one taking them out to look.  I feel that I can get tuned into them and then match them up to certain houses that are always talking to me.  We will be closing on a house next Wed. that has been talking to me for a long time.  As soon as these particular buyers came in I knew this house would be the one for them.  But they had come in asking to look at a different one, and so we went to it and many others.  But when they walked into this wonderful house I knew was for them, they knew it too.  The house will now be ringing with energy of this big happy family instead of almost always being empty as a vacation home. Happy house, happy family.  Whispers work.

Jon, my business partner noticed your blog and made me come read it.  This was an incredibly lovely and poetic piece of writing.  I've also hit suggest and hope to see this as a feature.

Since you've indicated permission to re-blog, I'll take you up on it!  Good luck with your future writings as you get more and more comfortable with the process.

Deborah- Loving what you do truly makes Real Estate Fun!

Bob- That twinkle in their eye does give it away doesn't it?

Leslie- Yes whispers do work! I just have to listen.

David- As long as I'm in the right frame of mind, you're right it definitely can be heard.

Mona- You're making me blush over here! Thank you for the kind response!

Jon- I've shared this experience with many buyer clients over the years.  I also have experienced when a buyer closes on a house that I never felt was right for them.  I hate when that happens and generally it goes back on the market before its time.

Hi Jon,

I've always felt that if the house is a home, it'll talk to the buyers when they arrive.  Great post!

Tammy- When the home speaks... whispers....  it speaks to the intended recipient... sometimes it can be misinterpreted and consequently back on the market. So true.

Michael- Everything has energy and yes if it truly is a home, it will converse. Thanks!
