This time, Princess Anne's daughter, Zara Phillips has married rugby player, Mike Tindall, in a church service at the Canongate Kirk church in Scotland.
Philips is the daughter of Princess Anne and her first husband and she will NOT take her husband's name as she competes in equestrian sports.
The groom arrived in a black suit in a Jaguar and the couple will delay their honeymoon as he will be playing rugby and she will be competing in horse trials later this week.
Wallace,
Great post I had just read this on the CNN website. What a difference from the other Royal Wedding in April. The bride and groom make a striking couple. Princess Anne was also married in Scotland in 2003 with her second marriage.
Thanks for this post! It's nice to see European history thrive in our modern day world.
Thinking of you in Costa Rica!
I love royal weddings, but this was so private it really had a different effect. As well it might. Very good looking people, aren't they?
Wallace- what's interesting is I read a blurb somewhere and while the article mentioned that Mark Phillips was her father, it never mentioned that Princess Anne was her mother.
Hi Wallace - It seems that at least a couple of royal weddings this year have had the honeymoon portion delayed. First William and Kate, now Zara and Mike. I don't recall what happened with the Monaco wedding honeymoon although I remember that there were a few issues.
I wonder if the royals felt overshadowed by the big affair in April. Wishing them all happy lives, although I have issues with the whole idea of the monacrchy in today's world. I think Prince Albert and his bride need the most wishes and prayers. LOL
They are VERY LOkey and very focused on sports which I think is fantastic. She is 13th in the line of succession in the UK so I think they did this for THEM!
