Most people's largest investment is their home.  They need to do routine maintenance on this property to protect their investment.  By doing regular maintenance you will make your home more efficient and prevent costly repairs.  In addition, know the location, and how to use your shut-off valves and switches for gas, electric and water.  This is very important in case of an emergence.   Following is a list of maintenance tasks and frequency these should be done:
