The first time I heard of DocuSign I thought it was really cool and considered incorporating into my business, but between using E-Fax and a scanner I really didn't see the need. However two weeks ago I decided to give it a try and there is no turning back.
DocuSign is super easy to use, extremely convenient and keeps contracts looking clean. Plus, my clients NEVER miss an initial or signature, so when it hits my inbox I know it's complete.
While it's only been two weeks I've already used it with several clients and the feedback has been great. I even had another agent question me about it because they too thought it was cool, but didn't see a need for it. Although after they saw how clean the contract remained they may incorporate it into their business too.
If you haven't tried DocuSign yet, I highly recommend doing so, they even have a FREE trial for those who are unsure.
This post is a submission to the DocuSign/ActiveRain Electronic Signature Stories Contest. It's possible I will win a prize for writing this post. You could win a prize too by going to the Contest Announcement and sharing your own story.
This is an invaluable tool, with the one caveat that some banks won't accept electronic signatures in short sale or REO transactions.
Michelle - We too have never used Docusign as I had come up against an attorney who wouldn't use it and a bank that did not accept electronic signatures either. The concept is intriguing but we have been doing PDF contracts across the country and never had a problem with them... I am curious of course about trying this out on a full time basis if I can get the other parties in our transactions on the same page..
Glad you are diggin the ease of docusign! Right up your technological savvy alley!
Michelle- I'm not a Realtor, but if I were, I'd definitely look into DocuSign.
There is no going back. You are correct. But what's really funny about DocuSign is how much you beat yourself up over it for not signing up a long time ago. I have no idea how anybody can be in business without incorporating DocuSign. It's such a time saver and so incredibly easy and fast to use. Glad you came over to the light, LOL.
Catherine - You definitely have to try it out
Laurie - Very true, but wet signatures can always be obtained later
Robert - That's what I was using and if need be will continue to use this method when needed, but for every thing else I'll use DocuSign.
Renee - Yes, it is and as usual it takes me forever to jump on things.
Kathy - I'm glad I finally incorporated it
Elizabeth - I know I know I know....the light is great
Michelle, I completely agree with you about the "not missing a signature or initial" part...electronic signatures make my job easier simply because I don't have to check to make sure they didn't miss anything! :)
Michelle - after reading Debe's post and now yours, I see that docusign might be added to my list of things to work on this month.
I absolutely LOVE DocuSign! I used it all weekend and just can't BELIEVE the ease of a transaction now! I have one client that is listing 4 properties with me over the next few months and getting those docs to him (in another country actually!), has been such a luxury.
Leilani - It's a very nice feature
Larry - You should try it out, there is a free trial version
Anja - I haven't heard of eSign, but I'm assuming it's very similar to DocuSign
Debe - It's soooo nice especially when our clients aren't local
