When I began life, I was born to wonderful parents who loved each other. Lucky me. But, as fate would have it, it didn't last long. And, so, we moved a lot....my mother and me. I think I lived in at least twenty homes before I was five. But as you can see from the photo below, I was well-loved. My first (doll) house is to my left in the photo. Keep going....I couldn't scan the photo very well. So ...........
I was very small when I was born, but I had big ideas. I knew I was destined to be a star. Look at that tree and all those presents. (And, no, I didn't have big feet, those are my dad's shoes). Having lived in so many places on the West Coast, Kelso, Washinton, Longview, Washington, Vancouver, Washington and L.A., my mom and my new step-dad and I moved to Minnesota.
Well, being an only child living on a farm was quite a surprise. I was a lonely little girl. But, my new step-dad and my uncle built me a house.....oh, it was grand...I had a great kitchen for mud pies and all kinds of preserves (most of the mud variety. And, it had a living room and dining room. What more could a girl ask for?
Well, I grew up and, married the most intellectual and smartest and most popular boy in nearly the county and we moved to Minneapolis.....only to move back to my FARM. My grandparents left me their farm...oh, yes, they did. So I had a house with NO mortgage payment. Woo-hoo...Nice 2 BR, 1 1/4 bath.
Then....as luck would have it, my husband's father bought us another farm.....so off went went to a five-bedroom, three bath house with NO MORTGAGE payment. Wow.
Well, all good things must come to an end....divorce. Another move with a child in tow. Moved to Mankato, Minnesota and started working in a law office and then moved to a Coldwell Banker office that the Bank President owned.
Many more moves, many more law offices and back to another Coldwell Banker office when I wised up and learned that lawyers weren't paying me for my knowledge of real estate. And, here I am making my own way again, still learning and still loving real estate.
I certainly did learn a lot along the way from some really great attorneys, agents, clients, friends and family. And, I wouldn't trade any of it for anything.
Here's a better photo, I think.
