School starts again soon, it's time to pay attention to school crossing zones. With all the budget cuts the school districts are trying to juggle, there may not be enough money to hire crossing guards. Waynesville, North Carolina may have found the answer...arming small children with axes.
I saw this sign on Main Street in Waynesville a couple of months ago. I almost caused a collision turning around to get the photo, afraid someone would paint over the axe, but guess there's no money in the budget for taking care of grafitti!
So, interpret them as you will but pay attention to the school crossing zones and avoid axe wielding children at all costs.
