Time to crank it up a notch

By
Real Estate Agent with Prudential Verani Realty

Its definitely time to crank it up a notch in real estate. In many markets, it has been challenging to be a sales agent lately. Many markets have become "buyers markets" and many have months of inventories to deal with. The mortgage shock waves have rippled and have slowed the buying process down for some new first time home buyers and in markets like mine in Southern New Hampshire, The weather plays a role in home sales as well.

With all that to look at, I see some light at the end of the tunnel. Many agents are working part time jobs to make ends meet and many will look at career changes very soon.

Perfect Opportunity for the full time agents to make a living. You will have to work harder, longer and smarter as an agent to make it and so the agents that are accessible to clients and/or potential customers will rise to the top. This is a good thing of course.

However, we still have a little ways to go. The full time agent who co-brokes a deal with a part-time agent is also very frustrating as calls and e-mails take many hours to be responded to. Hopefully soon, the markets make their corrections and the hobbiest find new hobbies and the full time, knowledgeable agents who have chosen real estate to be a career will find it a rewarding market.

I'm wondering if any other agents feel the same way I do?

Let me know!

Brian  I am sure many do, however recently there has been pressure to be careful what laundry we air on the blogs.

I doubt you will get much response.

I tend to agree with you, but have had some bad experiences with full time agents.  In many areas the majority of agents have less than 3 years in the business and never experienced a "down" market.
