Special Olympics Georgia 2011 - Masters Bowling and Horse Show
Georgia residents...mark your calendars and prepare to visit Warner Robins and Perry GA on Aug. 19-21 to watch incredible athletes compete in the Special Olympics Georgia (SOGA) Masters Bowling and Horse Show events. All total, over 1,400 athletes, Unified Partners, and coaches from around the state are expected to participate.
The opening ceremony will be held at the Galleria Conference Center (old Goody's at Galleria Mall) from 7:30pm-9:00pm on the 19th. Both SOGA events are free and open to the public and awards will be given out throughout the weekend.
The bowling, themed "Rock & Roll" this year, kicks off at noon on the 19th with all participants meeting on their lanes. The first set of bowlers begin at 12:45pm and will continue throughout the weekend at both bowling venues in Warner Robins. See the Masters Bowling Schedule for specific times.
The Horse Show will be held at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter in Perry GA all 3 days and includes dressage, English and Western style riding, horsemanship, and showmanship. Check in time for participants is 9:00am on Aug 19th with the first events starting at 11:00am. The theme for this years event is "Superheroes". Follow the link for additional Horse Show information.

SOGA works tirelessly to promote, train, and have events like these to assist both adults and kids with intellectual disabilities. Please show your support over the Aug 19-21 weekend by coming out and cheering on the athletes as they compete.
