Edward, and in that same "stand up" spirit... I am very disappointed that President Obama did not stand up to the Tea Party folks who held America hostage until they got what they wanted. For them... there is no such thing as being "united"... unless everyone else simply does as they demand.

Ed: Just a suggestion, here. Your last two comments... # 7 and #10... did not appear with your picture, and with a blue background... because you were not logged in when you made those comments. So... they ended up appearing like they were a comment from someone who was not a member of Active Rain.
Also... suggestion #2. You mentioned in your comment that you are reaching out only to those who are open to what you are saying.
To that end, I might suggest that you start your own Active Rain group. You can then have folks who agree with you join that group, and then post to that group. That way, you will not have to have comments made that disagree with your viewpoints. Everyone you are talking to... in writing your post to your own group... will be prone to agree with you.
There are already several different groups that have done this... so they can discuss things they choose... in the relative peace of being with those of like minds. If you would like help doing this, I would be pleased to assist you.
Just a thought... being helpful here.
By the way... I am not a "head in the sand" person. I am somewhat of a news and politics junkie. I regularly read perhaps twenty or so websites... scanning for articles of interest... from both sides of the political fence... from Huffington Post and Think Progress on the left, to TownHall.com on the far right... and many sites in between.
