The Harris Teeter grocery chain and thread company American & Efird, reported yesterday that despite the bad news in the stock market, Ruddick’s subsidiaries is showing significant increases in revenue. Ruddick’s subsidiaries increased its third-quarter revenue, rising to $1.19 billion.

Glad to hear that there are indeed some parts of the country that are experiencing some economic recovery. And, it seems everything effects real estate. Hope you continue feeling positive falloff from it and that it has a ripple effect to some other parts of the country.

It all starts with people spending, locally, all that money gets used over and over again to rev up the economy....
As long as hard working honest people earn a living we can fix most of our own problem along the way.
Well, it would make sense that grocery store revenue could be up. Have you seen the price of groceries lately? I don't know what the mark up is, but I looked as some cheese that I normally buy and it was $2 more than it was about 2 months ago.
Let's hope the profits of corporate America trickle down to jobs for people.
Debe - people always have to eat but the fact that it is higher end speciality products that are driving the profits is great news for the recovery train that is headed your way.
Debe, I have never heard of this Store Chain from the sounds of it it appears to be similar to Wholefoods or Bristol Farms. I am just wondering if it has any co-relation to maybe fewer people going to restaurants and more food is cooked at home? Just wondering out loud.
Debe: Food prices are up, so that may be part of the story: howver, recovery is taking place in different places at different times.
