Civil War Living History in Springfield Vermont Windsor Vermont, this here event is part of the Springfield, Vermont 250th Celebration, that is taking place this year.

The History of the Civil War is the focus of this here event, which will be taking place on the Common today the 6th of August 2011. Folks are invited to come and attend to enjoy a mighty fun day. The Vermont Civil War Hemlocks reenactment group will be portraying Springfield's Blue Bellys Company A Unit of the 3rd Vermont. They will be setup on the Common demonstrating life of a Blue Belly Civil War soldiers. Its said that the 1861 Blue Bellys of the Springfield Company during that spring would drill on the common just about every day.

, its said that folks should keep an eye out for Mr. Lincoln for he is to show up to visit the soldiers of Company A of the 3rd Vermont , you are able to visit this here part of the Celebration between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 4:30 P.M. There will be a Civil War dance held at the Springfield VFW Post 771 Hall, which is located on VFW Drive in Springfield, Vermont. The dance is being held between the hours of 7:00 P.M. and 10:00 P.M.If you would like to give VFW Post 771 a donation, they will be accepting them at the door.

You'll be able to enjoy listening and dancing to the Camp Lincoln String Band as they entertain playing Civil War time period music. Dance instructors Terry and Jim Strien will be there to teach folks the dances from the Civil War time period. Everyone sure are mighty welcome to attend whether you are dressed in period clothing or not.

Dale - my father was a great student of the civil war and would have loved to visit and learn from your civil war re-enactment of the life of a civil war soldier ..... I think the biggest lesson we should all learn is war is not the answer as nobody really wins

Michael, folks sure can learn a lot about the History of our Great Country by attending reenactment events.

Kathy, I'm also really enjoy learning about the War for Southern Independence (aka Civil War). Sometimes going to war is the only way to get things taken care of.
