Rain Predicted:  3:00 p.m.

Rainforest @ Buffalo Zoo

After visiting Niagara Falls with Hunter, my 10 year old grandson, we stopped at the Buffalo Zoo.

At the entrance to the two story Rainforest we saw a sign predicting rain at 3:00 p.m.  Being a typical 10 year old Hunter was curious about how they would make it rain inside.  All afternoon he asked what time it was so we could hurry back to the Rainforest by 3:00 p.m.

Rainforest

Here is Hunter standing on second floor observation deck just 'feeling the rain' at 3:00 p.m.

"That was so cool," Hunter told his parents when Dave & I dropped him off at home a few hours later.

Mary, what beautiful, brilliant-colored birds!!  I know Hunter had a great time with you!  Grandparents are such a blessing! So thankful my parents live close by so they can enjoy our children and vice-versa!

I think Grandma is "so cool" and you seem to be picking the perfect things to do with Hunter.

Mary, I used to enjoy taking my children places and watching them experience new things and become curious about the world around them. Alas, that time has passed for me, however, I plan on being around long enough to do it all over again with the grand children. I can't wait.

Martha--grandkids are one of life's little pleasures.  Nice to see you today.

Joni--I wish I could bottle the rain and send your way.  I hear from my brother who lives in TX just how dry it is.  I will have Hunter do a rain dance.

Sonja--Living close is good for so many reasons.  I especially like impromptu fun as well as planned days like our visit to Niagara Falls and Buffalo Zoo.

Suzanne--I wish I had the ear of the weather gods.  During the winter & early spring we wanted some of your warm weather.  Now you need some of our rain.  What a mix-up.

Hi Toni--I have a few more 'cool ideas' for fun with Hunter.  We try to do something at least once a week during the summer months.  Three more weeks before school starts again.

That is so true, Valerie.  Children of all ages see life without all the baggage that adult often carry.  Even my mother who is 88 loves her time with the kids.  Nice to see you.

Hi Roy, thanks for the flowers.  Love each one.

Malcolm--I try to spend one day a week with Hunter during the summer months.  He is at the perfect age to introduce new experiences.  Someday he will do the same with his kids, I am sure.

PS  The grandkids will come in due time.  Enjoy your young adults.
