Reading in the Rain - September Book Selection

Well Folks, Most of you know that Donna Foerster is very ill.  Good news came in yesterday that her WBC Count was almost back to normal, and they are looking into Rehab and the possibility of an Intestine Transplant.  Keep the prayers coming!

Donna was to host the September Book Meeting for "Reading in the Rain".  The book she chose was "On Folly Beach" by Karen White (and it's gonna be a good one), and as soon as she is well enough, we will be throwing that book into the mix. But for now, we have chosen another book to slip in.

After asking my Librarian for a suggestion yesterday, I decided on "The Girl Who Fell From The Sky" by Heidi W. Durrow.  Britta, My librarian, said it was a quick and easy read, and very, very good.    Since we are throwing it out to you at the last minute, it seemed like a great pick!

Short Preview: The Girl Who Fell From the Sky is a searing and heart-wrenching portrait of a young biracial girl dealing with society's ideas of race and class. It is the winner of the 2008 Bellwether Prize for best fiction manuscript addressing issues of social justice.

You have until September 15th, 2011 to finish the book.  If you haven't joined the Book Club yet, it's never too late.  The more the merrier, so head on over and join "Reading in the Rain" now.

Please continue to pray for Donna & Rich!

I'm sorry to hear that something happened to Donna, I will have to back track on logs to find out what's up.  I will go out and get this book today.  (I did start Donna's selection, and it started out great)!
