THINGS YOU SEE IN THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING!

Bird Cage

 

On Saturday mornings I often meet up with my running group to get an early start on the day and run our long run as a group.  As I am driving down Woodlands Parkway at 6 a.m., I am always amazed at the number of people that are out running, biking and walking.  Also once we start running, there are interesting things going on in the woods.

Yesterday I saw something that I have never seen before and so wished I had taken my phone or camera with me in order to snap a picture.  There was a woman walking her birds!!!  She had a birdcage propped up in a wagon and was pulling them along the path.  That was a first for me.

She explained that the birds needed fresh air and that she knew they enjoyed hearing the other birds in the woods.  This makes them happy she said.  Hmmmm, I would have never thought about this.  This was one dedicated bird owner.

Overall a good message for us all.  Take the time to get out and enjoy some fresh air and listen to the birds.  Enjoy your day!

Born and raised in NY and I have seen some really crazy stuff but I have never ever seen anyone walk their birds (sounds like a line dance).  I'm with QuickFree (odd name) nuts, but happy.

Cute Tammy.  I like that thought as well.  And yes, while it may seem a strange thing to do, she obviously was enjoying the walk as well.  I thought it was cute and certainly gave me a bit to think about along those long and hot miles.  I think that as long as people are out walking or exercising in any form is certainly better than sitting around on the couch watching television.
