There are a handful of people in my life that really know how to take lemons and turn them into lemonade. Take my assistant, Gerri. Her then 2yr old daughter, Bren broke her first piggy bank- something Gerri had hoped to save for Bren. After saving the pieces for almost two years, she came up with an ingenious plan to make it something worth keeping. Gerri started with some basic supplies:

One broken piggy bank

One shadow box

Contact paper

A circular cutter

Glue gun (can use any type of quick dry clear glue)

She took the back off and covered it with contact paper.

She then arranged the pieces to look like it had just crashed on the floor. Then she had the bright idea to add coins. Ones from when Bren was born, when she and husband were born and married. And then a neat two dollar bill to symbolize the year Bren broke her bank.

How's that for ingenuity?
