Pay It Forward - Saving A Bike's Life!

By
Real Estate Agent with Reliant Realty, Murfreesboro

I am a creature of habit and like to park in the same spot every day.  As I was pulling into the parking lot I noticed that Pay it Forwardsomeone had taken my usual space.  So I navigated my land yacht (also known as a Yukon XL) to the first spot that is flanked on one side by some overgrown bushes.  The bushes can be annoying and I was debating on going farther down to park since my premium spot was taken!  As I pulled in I noticed that there was a mountain bike thrown half way between the parking spot and the bushes.  With my view being blocked by the bushes it was a miracle I didn't run over the bike before I saw it.

Since I had already decided that this wasn't a prime parking spot anyway, it would have been easier to just move down to the next available parking spot and leave the bike for its rightful owner.  But I knew the chances of the next driver not seeing the bike before it was too late were high!  So, I parked my car and drugged the bike to safety leaving it parked in the bushes.

I'm not sure where the bike came from or why it was left so carelessly.  But I hope I saved someone from being really disappointed if they had returned and found their bike in pieces!   And I'm trusting that my random act of kindness may be returned by me finding my usual parking spot open tomorrow!

Sherri,  I hope the owner finds the bike!  You were really lucky even though you didn't get your favorite spot.   You were able to build some good karma.  Good luck on finding your spot open tomorrow!

What a nice thing to do!  Speaking of bikes...I went on a 12 mile bike ride yesterday for the first time in years....my butt is sore today.  Why do they make those seats so uncomfortable???  Ok, a little off topic but whatever.  :)

Sherri....That was nice.   The owner may not understand when he looks for it, but it is still a good deed.

Your "land yacht" as you called it would have definitely done some damage so I'm glad you noticed the bike before it was too late! How do you handle a beast of a vehicle like that with these gas prices!?! : )
