Many of Concord New Hampshire's Neighborhood Elementary Schools date to pre-1936.
There is a plan in the works to consolidate Concords Eight Elementary Schools . The "Plan" envisions closing four, rebuilding two and one new one!
A group of citizens , calling themselves ABC (A Better Choice), is attempting to save seven of the schools by having them put on the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance List (NHPA). This in an attempt to preserve Concord's heritage.
Those seeking to consolidate have an Economic Perspective. They contend 
that dropping enrollment has made them too small to be effective!
Whatever the decision....to remodel or rebuild most hope that the schools can be preserved even if in Another Capacity.
The schools in Concord have been centers of neighborhood Social Activity for many years. They each have their own Community History.
There is a School Board Election coming up next month....and there are three vacant seats. Perhaps members of the ABC Group could get themselves elected?
