There are many charming neighborhoods to choose from, when it comes to buying a Seattle home. The Emerald City has a delightful variety of distinctive communities just waiting for their newest neighbor to arrive. One of the top choices for those seeking close proximity to downtown Seattle, happens to be Queen Anne.

The charming spells Queen Anne casts upon all who visit are not hard to spot. Welcoming front porches beckon us to stop and linger, leaded window, brick and ornate mill work take us back in time to a place where the pace is not so hurried, flower beds are openly displayed in front yards, sloping down to greet the sidewalks we share, as we stroll the tree lined streets on a walk to the local market. Love those front porches. There was a point in time when everyone sat on their porch welcoming each other with pitchers of lemonade or ided tea. Then as Frank Llyod Wright noted, the backyard was the place, and it become a form of isolation from the neighborhood. I have always loved the wrap around porch. Lovely pictures. A

Having lived on Queen Anne, I felt a wee sentimental tear rise in my eyes just looking at your GORGEOUS post (which I am "suggesting" BTW...it is a fab example of stellar HyperLocal post!)...Oh how I love those bungalows...the atmosphere ...actually, you would be surprised how much Asheville resonates with this neighborhood feeling...the Arts and Crafts...the color...the gardens!

Hi janeAnne~ What a great compliment from an Ambassador who knows and loves Queen Anne!

I keep working on my style and feel I've really improved this past year. I've let the fear go, and write what I feel. My photos are improving, and I do believe that with all the good impact I receive in Active Rain, I am finding my "Authentic Brand" as Alexandra so aptly proclaimed in her blog post today!
