Do You Have Time to Meet with Me?
Jeff Dowler's post Do You Have Time To Meet With Me? brought a smile to my face. It was so nice to read a scenario where the customer called a professional and understood that, like any other professional, he works by appointment. Sometimes when I am the one asking this question, the customer on the other end of the line suddenly remembers that they are "late for something" and will have to call me back. The call never comes.
Ask any of my past clients and they will speak of my hard work, my dedication to being an advocate for them, and my efforts to educate them along the way. I can do that for you as well. But, I can do a much better job for you if we have a chance to meet and assess your needs first.

Seriously, I think this is a great call or email as opposed to those where someone calls willy nilly, and wants you to drop everything to go show them a home…someone you have never met, have not qualified, and know nothing about.
First, I find that people who call or email this way are pretty darn serious and want to initiate a discussion about real estate, as opposed to those “just looking” calls. The people I have met this way are already pre-approved, or cash ready, they have a pretty good idea about what they want, and they are ready to start the search.
They are specially asking for help and want to sit down for a discussion that, presumably, means an exchange of information, getting to know each other, and determining the best course of action. They are ready to commit and actually want your assistance.
The other nice thing is that buyers or sellers who call asking to meet are typically people who have been referred, or have found my blog, like what they see, and have made the decision to seek me out for a serious discussion about buying or selling.
Sometimes they are interviewing more than one agent, and I’m perfectly fine with that. In fact, I think it’s a good idea if they aren’t sure. But most of the time it seems the decision has already been made and the answer is…let’s meet and get started.
Of course I have questions I need to get answered so I can make an informed decision as well. And I want to be sure buyers or sellers get the information they need and have their questions answered.
Do you have time to meet with me?
You bet. I like someone who is pro-active. How about…?
