Use Courage To Make Things Happen

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Takes CourageIn real estate and life a good thought to remember is to

Use Courage To Make Things Happen.

Why is this? Sometimes you get stuck because of fear. Courage is not abandoning or ignoring fear which is real, but pushing ahead despite fear.

Lifting up that very heavy phone handset to do that needed lead generation or prospecting. JUST START with courage. Avoiding confrontation of a delicate situation with many sparks to fly. Do it first thing in the morning. Push ahead. Putting off a decision. Decide today.

Courage sometimes can be thought of like this crazy penguin in this photo. Wow, wouldn't it be better to just stay in bed in the morning and do nothing? Sure. But then again NOTHING happens. Life is all about ADVANCING, not being stuck in a rut.

Try courage. Practice courage. With what you can control, get off the dime. This courage things gets to be a good habit too when practiced over and over again over time. You might also surprise yourself it wasn't as hard to do as you thought, and actually life changes for the better with that weight lifted off your shoulders.

That phone can get awfully heavy Gary when it's a call we don't want to make!  I love the picture of the penguin.  We could all use that kind of courage in our decision making.  Just imagine the results??!

Get out of your comfort zone.  Courage plays a big part in our career.  You need courage to be honest and face rejection, you need courage to do things you don't like to do but in order to improve/go to the next level you must do, you have to have faith to know that when you do these uncomfortable things that results will follow.  Very nice post Gary!

Gary - truer words were never spoken - if we don't face our fears we lock ourselves into a state of inertia and become ineffective and never reach our potential. I have found that the fear itself was far worse then diving in and facing it head on! If you get a chance, check out my post and you'll see just how I apply your philosophy to my life and what a differnce it has made! Suggested!

Great post, Gary! We typically grow the most when we face the challenges. If we all just pushed the comfort zone a bit, we'd realize what awesome things we're all capable of! Enjoy your day! May the polar bears be friendly.  :-)

Life is all about advancing,.. love that!  It is easy to get stuck.  I think a picture of that penquin on top of the polar bear may have to sit on my desk!  Thanks for the motivation today Gary.

Great post Gary. The phone can sometime be a paralyzing factor and hold back the success. We all have to over come it. Great encouraging post.

Gary, the word courage always conjures up the Cowardly Lion in the Wizard of Oz.  I like this quote that sums up the definition so completely:  "Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death."  Harold Wilson.  The Penguin, on the other hand, I'm not so sure that I could describe that as courage but I do love the picture.

Pushing ahead through the discomfort zone can be intimidating, where are my shoulder pads?! I am shadowing a very successful agent this week regarding making those phone calls. Great information Gary!

Gary: Coming from a recruiting background, prospecting was a big part of our business. Recruiting a company for a job opening and recruiting a candidate to fill the position. I always knew within the first month if someone would be a success in the business. The telephone can be your best friend if you allow it to happen. Too me it is the easiest way to promote your business. Just go for it and "dial for dollars" is something I use to tell my recruiters.

Gary -It sure takes courage to tackle a task we might dislike.   For many making phone call is a big hurdle,  so it is important to jump in.   I always tell myself the answer on the other end is going to be yes or no and i can't take things personal.

Gary,

Excellent!

Courage is often just superior knowledge. IE: If that Polar Bear swam to where the penguins are he's to tired to be a danger!
