School Is Starting In Defiance County Ohio

With the summer months winding down it was inevitable that classes would soon be starting in Defiance County.  I don’t know about you or your family but, I have mixed feelings about school starting again.  With Defiance City Schools scheduled to start their classes on August 24^th, I’m reminded that my schedule will now be a lot more structured over the next nine months.  I believe that both of my kids are ready to head back to school but neither would readily admit it. I think they both miss the activities and their friends and are looking forward to getting back into their routine.  Both of my kids will be attending their same schools again this year which is nice as it doesn’t add a lot more stress to their lives as they already know their buildings.  My youngest is going to be a 5^th grader this year at the Defiance Elementary school and my oldest will be in 8^th this year and will be attending the Defiance Middle School. 

As a parent who chooses to drive his kids to school, I’m very interested to see how the new stop light on the corner of Downs St. and Jefferson are going to work out when all the buses and parents are transporting all those kids.  I think that the city of Defiance did the right thing by having it installed but am curious on how it will all work out.  If you have someone heading to the elementary school this year I’d love to hear your thoughts on that light.

Next year should be a little easier as I won’t have to make that trip anymore as the kids will be in the Defiance Middle School and my oldest will be a freshman at the Defiance High School.  I don’t look forward to that day!
