YEAH! Rick Perry to Run for PRESIDENT in 2012! Let's Discuss ECONOMICS NOW!

By
Property Manager with Gibson Management Group, Ltd.

I took a nap this afternoon so I can watch the GOP IOWA debate tonight on FoxSnooze and while Palin and Perry will not be on the IOWA stage, Reuters is reporting that Perry will RUN for President inm 2012 and the announcement will be made this weekend.

Larry Sabato * UVa's Center for Politics * reports that Perry's entry will hasten the departure of 2nd and 3rd tier GOP candidates which is a good sign as then the FOCUS can be on the US ECONOMY, Stupid!

The fact is that the lost of our AAA rating will greatly effect the real estate market no matter what Bernicke says.  The more the Feds have to go into the private sector, the LESS money there will be for banks and lenders and the less money will be available for mortgages.

The fact that the White House is now floating the baloon that federally insured REO and HUD homes should be RENTED is ANOTHER nail in the coffin of Real Estate as those homes will NEVER go on the real estate market again AND neighborhoods where these homes are located will suffer GREATLY!

We need to bring the discussion BACK to the economy and how what THIS Administration has done has NOT WORKED and as long as Obamacare is on the horizon, businesses are too uncertain to hire new employees and take new risks.  Likewise, SANITY needs to return to the regulatory marketplace and STUPID Volt cars and swirley lite bulbs need be abandoned.....FAST!

Lest we forget, Texas' economy is LARGER than many countries and it is doing VERY WELL in spite of a drought and immigration issues.

Here's my DREAM GOP Team * Rick Perry for PRESIDENT and Virginia's GOP Gov Bob McDonnell * Military Lawyer * Former Attorney General * Father of 5 in a VERY SUCCESSFUL RED STATE! for Vice President.

Wallace:  I know you are thrilled... but I have lived in Texas for 29 years... and our dear Governor Perry has totally trashed the schools.  We rank anywhere from 48th to 50th in SO many important categories.

Tell ya what.  Whoever your governor is... we'll trade you.  Sight unseen... no negotiating.  Perry looks good now to some, but wait until his shortcomings become known.

By the way... he just finished having the state legislature allow the state to pay for a TEN MILLION DOLLAR renovation on his Governor's Mansion.  Budget... yeah, right.  Perry has been governor for more than ten years... and the state is SO incredibly in debt.  You can have him.  I sure wish he had to resign in order to run for office.

As much as I like our Governor, he has a few skeletons that would seriously harm the ticket.

At this point, Marco Rubio, if he would run would be a fabulous choice.  That would be having two dynamic candidates on the same ticket.  Not often enjoyed.

His speech at the Republican Leadership Committee was memorable.  Perry has real stagecraft and true charisma.

I will easily concede one thing to you, Wallace.  Dear President Obama is about to go on a week's vacation up to Martha's Vineyard.  I mean... sheesh.  What is he thinking ?  After the messes of the last few weeks, and what the stock market is going through... he picks NOW to go on vacation ?  Talk about leaving one's self open for a ton of criticism... yikes !

Go write a post about it.  I will comment, and agree with you.  Whooda thunk ?

It's the economy and Obama has Little Timmy through November 2012 to blame it on...TX and VA have VERY GOOD economies because they are RIGHT TO WORK states with LIMITED legislature.  VA is the only state with 1 term governors - 4 years and a VERY RED legislature.

Hi Wallace - Good choices but I would love to Marco Rubio and Chris Christie as the Republican ticket

The GOP NEEDS Rubio in the Senate....VP is NOT the place for his specific voice.  Christie has a lot of work to do in NJ and needs to loose 100lbs.  Paul and Bachmann need to remain in Congress and Herman Cain needs to run for US Senate from Georgia * the debate was a GREAT PLATFORM for many future elections!

I see cabinet posts for Newt and Rick both.  Huntsman and the NO-SHOW Johnson need to disappear from the GOP stage.

Wallace:  I can somewhat understand all of your comment #6... on what you would suggest for the various candidates... but I would be very interested in a thorough answer as to just why you would be so against Huntsman ?

What do you see as his good points and his bad points ?  I am looking to learn, here.  Thanks so much.

I love the dissing of Gov Perry for remodeling the Governor's Mansion. No mention that it was burned and had to be remodeled. No mention that it wasn't Gov Perry's choice. And I doubt Gov Perry was running around the mansion going "Upgrade this, upgrade that, I want GOLD plated light fixtures and a platinum toilet!" At least she didn't complain about the fact the Gov Perry refused to stay in the Governor's mansion and RENTED a private home to live in. (Yes, I have actually heard that from liberals, democrats and the media (but I repeat myself).

I've been to the TX Gov's manse and according to Laura Bush's book, the gov's family actually lives in an area the size of a modest 2 bedroom apartment on the second floor  The building is a STATE TREASURE and it needs to be PRESERVED.

TX gov manse remodel is a RED HERRING * CA govs have had to rent homes in Sacramento for decades.

Huntsman is too tied to Obama and he and Johnson * who was not in the Iowa debate * need to bow out and let the ADULTS in the ROOM speak....Romney, Perry, Bachmann, Cain  * THEY are the executives WITH EXPERIENCE

Wallace, after reading all the comments here, I forget, what is a blue state, what is a red state? :0)   Gov. Perry is supposed to announce his candicacy tomorrow/today in Charlotte, North/South Carolina I think they said on the news here in DFW.  The Texas Association of Realtors has backed Gov. Perry for many years as he is a strong proponent of the real estate industry.  I will try and keep my political comments to myself here, less i insight a firestorm.   I just wanted to thank you for your comments on my post about our dear "Moose", I really appreciated it.

TEXAS and VIRGINIA are BOTH RED STATES with ROARING economies.  VA will have a $30-$50M surplus for this year.

Interestingly - both states have LIMITED legislatures - Virginia's is only half-year and almost all of the members have REAL FULL-TIME jobs * lawyers and several are real estate professionals.

Wallace,

I have been steadily in the Bachman camp but if Karen Anne is so opposed to Perry I,ll have to give him a good look. LOL

I'm with Rick Perry all the way - and would love to see a Perry/Bachman ticket.  I think that's a combination that will be hard to beat.  And failure is just not an option in the next election.
